Prasan Roy is the founder of Sclera, a pioneer in analytics virtualization, that aims to radically simplify the development of advanced analytics applications.
Till 2011, Prasan was a senior research scientist and research manager at IBM Research, working on various aspects of data analytics. Prior to joining IBM, he was with Aster Data Systems, a silicon valley based startup (now Teradata-Aster), where he was responsible for the overall architecture and development of Aster nCluster's parallel query optimization and planning component, as well as several innovative analytics operators. Earlier, he held faculty/research positions at IIT-Bombay, IBM Research (2003-2007) and Bell Labs.
Prasan holds a B.Tech. from IIT-Delhi and an M.Tech. and a Ph.D. from IIT-Bombay, all in computer science.
